The United States Vows a Significant Aid Sum, Issuing a Blunt Warning to the UN.

With an announcement that pairs financial support with a firm ultimatum, Washington has committed $2 billion to support UN emergency relief programmes. However, this aid was accompanied by a direct warning for the international body: it must "adapt or die."
